Arthur Marinho

Arthur Marinho is a Brazilian advertising creative and art director based in Vila Velha, with more than 15 years of experience. Working as an independent studio, he brings together strategy, visual identity, copywriting, social media and website design.

You work directly with the person thinking and making. In healthcare and other regulated markets, each project is built around technical language, compliance and advertising boundaries from the outset.

Much of this work sits within advertising regulations, including Brazilian health authorities and industry-specific rules. Addressing compliance at the briefing stage — rather than during final review — protects the idea and prevents unnecessary rework.

Frequently asked questions

How it works
in practice.

How does a project begin?

Always with an initial, no-obligation conversation. I learn about the context, audience and desired outcome; you learn how I work and the likely investment range.

Only then do I send a proposal with a defined scope, timeline and fee. Nothing begins until both sides agree on what is written.

How much does a brand identity project cost?

It depends on the scope, which is why I do not use a fixed price list. An identity for a new clinic and the redesign of a medical device brand with a full product range are not the same assignment, even if both are called visual identity.

Depth determines the fee: the number of applications, whether naming is involved and whether the guidelines must cover packaging, environments or technical materials. I share an estimated range during our first conversation so you can decide early whether it makes sense.

Should I hire an agency or a senior independent creative?

An agency makes sense when the volume is high and constant, and you need several workstreams running at once with dedicated teams.

A senior independent creative makes sense when the missing ingredient is judgement rather than headcount. Here, you speak directly with the person doing the work: the brief is not passed down and the project does not change hands after the presentation. Fewer intermediaries usually means less distance between what was agreed and what is delivered.

How long does a project take?

It varies with the scope, but production is rarely the main source of delay. Approval times and the arrival of client-side content — such as photography, technical copy and product data — usually have a greater impact.

That is why approval stages and deliverables are agreed at the beginning. A realistic timeline defined early prevents difficult conversations later.

Do you work with companies outside Brazil?

Yes. Most projects are already managed remotely, with video meetings and centralised files. The same process works whether the client is in another Brazilian city or another country, and I am fluent in English.

Do you understand regulated healthcare advertising?

Yes. For Brazilian projects, planning, copywriting and art direction consider CFM Resolution 2,336/2023 and the Medical Advertising Manual from the briefing stage.

Because regulations and interpretations can change, each project is checked against official sources before publication. For international work, the same principle applies: local requirements must be confirmed and communication should remain accurate, responsible and properly contextualised.

Do I need to have everything defined before we start?

No. If the positioning and audience are already clear, we can move directly into execution and the project will progress faster.

If they are not, defining them becomes part of the work. Many projects begin precisely there, and skipping that stage usually costs more than addressing it properly.
